LinguaBoard is designed with privacy as a core principle. All translations run locally using Apple's on-device Translation framework. No internet connection is required, no accounts are needed, and no data ever leaves your Mac.

Information We Collect

We do not collect any personal information.

The following data is stored locally on your device only and is never transmitted:

• Translation Sessions: Your translation history organized by sessions
• Translation Records: Source text, translated text, and language pairs
• User Preferences: Theme settings, font size, language preferences, and TTS voice selections

Information We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect analytics or usage data
• We do not track your behavior or activities
• We do not use any third-party tracking or advertising SDKs
• We do not transmit your translations to any external servers
• We do not share any data with third parties
• We do not require an account or login

How Translation Works

LinguaBoard uses Apple's native Translation Framework built into macOS 15.0 and later:

• All translations are processed entirely on your device
• No internet connection is required
• Your text never leaves your Mac
• Apple's translation models run locally

Text-to-Speech

The text-to-speech feature uses Apple's built-in AVFoundation framework. All audio synthesis happens locally on your device. No text is sent to external servers.

Data Storage

All data is stored locally on your Mac using Apple's SwiftData framework and UserDefaults. Data is stored in the app's sandboxed container, protected by macOS security features.

You have full control over your data:

• Delete individual translation sessions at any time
• Clear all data by removing the app
• Reset preferences through the app settings

Third-Party Services

LinguaBoard does not use any third-party services, SDKs, or APIs. We rely exclusively on Apple's native frameworks:

• Translation Framework (for translations)
• AVFoundation (for text-to-speech)
• SwiftData (for local data storage)

Children's Privacy

LinguaBoard is suitable for all ages. We do not collect any personal information from any users, including children. Since no data is transmitted externally, there are no concerns regarding children's data.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
